The Marion County Assessor, Tax and Clerks offices are moving to a new location. We request that members of the public seeking services from these offices be patient as some of the services may be suspended while we get settled into the new facility. We anticipate being fully operational by September 1st, 2010.

(8/06/10) - Officials Dealing with Courthouse Square Challenge
Information presented on July 26, 2010 to a joint meeting of the Board of Comissioners and the Transit Board focused on the safety of the Courthouse Square building itself. (3/22/10) -
SCAM ALERT
The Marion County Assessors Office would like you to be aware of a scam
perpetrated
by a company called Property Tax Adjusters.
You may receive, by mail, an official looking letter which explains that your property may be over assessed, and a request for reassessment is available to you. If you mail back the coupon with a payment of $189, Property Tax Adjusters claims that all the necessary documentation will be prepared and submitted to the County Assessor's Office and Appeals Board. They also claim to act as your agent in all dealings with the County Assessors Office and promise to refund the $189 payment if you fail to qualify for a reduction.

(3/17/2010) - New Features
New features have been added to the free property records web page. Sketches, improvement photographs and tax history are now available. Please remember that not all properties in Marion County have sketches or improvement photos. We are working hard to get all of the improvements photographed and all of the sketches drawn. Each month new sketches and photos are added.
