Patti Milne served as a state representative in the Oregon State Legislature from 1993 through 1998 before taking office as Marion County Commissioner in 1999. She is now serving her fourth term. At the legislature, she chaired the House Human Resources Committee and the Subcommittee on Education, chaired the Task Force on Hispanic and Migrant Affairs, and served as Majority Whip in 1995. She was a member of the Oregon Commission for Child Care and on the Task Force on the Juvenile Court System and Juvenile Delinquency.
Patti was also elected to the Woodburn School District Board of Directors, serving from 1988-1992 and has served on several local boards including the Marion County Education Service District Budget Committee and was co-chair of the Law Enforcement Committee of the Community Gang Forum.
Her community service includes membership in the Woodburn Rotary Club and the Woodburn Chamber of Commerce. Patti currently sits on the Blanchet Catholic School President's Advisory Board after having served fourteen years on the Blanchet School Board of Directors and on its executive committee. She has also served as chair and vice-chair of the Oregon Garden Foundation Board, on the Willamette Valley Hospice Board of Directors in Salem, and on advisory committees for St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Woodburn and St. Joseph's Shelter in Mt. Angel.Patti's background is as a small business owner. She and her husband Stan have three children and two grandchildren.
