Marriage Licenses A marriage license costs $60.00 cash or check. We do not take debit or credit cards.You need to secure your license at least 3 days prior to your ceremony (there is a 3 day waiting period). Once the license is purchased, you have 60 days to have the ceremony performed anywhere in Oregon. Here is a link to Judges available for marriage ceremonies.To obtain a license, the man and woman must complete and sign the license. The bride and the groom must appear to purchase the marriage license. You must be 18 years of age or older to obtain a license without the consent of a parent or guardian. Persons 17 years of age may obtain a marriage license by either presenting a notarized consent form from their parents or guardian or by bringing your parents or guardians with you when you apply for your license. No one under 17 years of age is allowed to be married in Oregon - there are not exceptions.The 3 day waiting period can be waived. The forms requesting such a waiver are available in the Clerk's Office.No blood tests or physicals are required.If either the bride or groom are changing their last name to that of their spouse, a certified copy of the marriage license is needed to take to the DMV, banks, Social Security, etc. in order to change the last name with them. Certified copies are $4.00 each. You can purchase a certified copy at the time you purchase your marriage license or you can request it at a later date.
