Domestic Violence Council
The mission of the Marion County Domestic Violence Council is to work toward an end to domestic violence in Marion County by increasing community awareness and promoting a safe, empowering, accountable, and coordinated response to domestic violence in order to increase the safety and well being of domestic violence victims.
Subcommittees:
Domestic Violence AwarenessØ This group was formed to initiate activities that create awareness regarding domestic violence. One activity is the annual Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Run held yearly in October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. For more information about the Walk/Run, visit www.mcdvcouncil.org.
Domestic Violence Fatality ReviewØ This group was formed to develop protocols and procedures for multidisciplinary review of all domestic violence homicides in Marion County, pursuant to ORS 718.012-718.018.
Batterer Intervention ReviewØ This group was formed to work in collaboration with the Marion County Local Supervisory Authority to review batterer intervention programs for compliance with the Marion County Batterer Intervention Standards.Ø This group conducts regular reviews of the Standards and proposes revisions as necessary.
Protocol Revision and TrainingØ This group organizes and conducts trainings for law enforcement on domestic violence investigations response and the Marion County Domestic Violence Protocol.Ø This group conducts regular reviews of the protocol and proposes revisions as necessary.
