Project ABLE
Project ABLE (A Better Life Experience) is an independent, non-profit consumer lead organization. The mission of Project ABLE is to be a consumer-centered organization that provides peer-to-peer supports for individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring issues. These supports embrace human dignity, the inherent capacity and hope for individuals to recover and promote life-long empowerment. Peer-to-peer services under the umbrella of Project ABLE are specific and targeted on goals for providing:
Opportunities for personal learning and growth
Opportunities for camaraderie and mutual support
Opportunities for community and service to other consumer
Services that promote healing through an acknowledgment and celebration of an individual’s strengths, resiliencies, talents, autonomy and inherent worth
Opportunities to develop and train consumer leadership
Collaboration with other peer, provider and community organizations
Opportunities for other diverse and meaningful community roles and relationships
