Gambling Treatment & Prevention
For most people, gambling is a form of recreation, pleasurable - though not often profitable. For some, however, the pleasure of gambling has spiraled out of control. It has become a serious problem that is similar to an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. The problem or pathological gambler can't stop - even when gambling becomes destructive.
Make the call if someone you know is playing out of control, call
1-877-MY-LIMIT
for help. Licensed treatment providers are there to listen, help and make referrals to local treatment centers 24 hours a day. You can also visit the website at
http://www.1877mylimit.org/
for more information and a chance to speak to an online counselor.
