A Geographic Information System (GIS) is designed for developing, maintaining, analyzing and displaying digital spatial data. GIS digital spatial data essentially relates and links digital information with geographical positions on the Earth.Marion County's GIS staff is responsible for the development and maintenance of Marion County's digital spatial databases, interactive GIS desktop and web software applications, and map products.
