New information for Conditionally Exempt Generators:
(CEGs generate less than 220 lbs. of hazardous waste per month.)
Marion County has joined DEQ's Free Mercury Collection program for CEGs. Under this program, CEGs can take elemental mercury and mercury containing devices (i.e. switches, thermostats, thermometers, barometers, manometers, etc.) to the Marion County HHW facility. Fluorescent light tubes are not accepted under DEQ's Free Mercury Disposal Program, but CEGs can take them to the Marion County HHW facility for a fee.
The CEGs need to first make an appointment withMarion County's HHW facility to drop their mercury containing waste off.
