Marion County participates in DEQ's Free Mercury Collection program for CEGs. Under this program, CEGs can take elemental mercury and mercury containing devices (i.e. switches, thermostats, thermometers, barometers, manometers, etc.) to the Marion County HHW facility. Fluorescent light tubes are not accepted under DEQ's Free Mercury Disposal Program, but CEGs can take them to the Marion County HHW facility for a fee or search for another recycler on our database.
The CEGs need to first make an appointment withMarion County's HHW facility to drop their mercury-containing waste off.
