Yard Debris Drop-off Program Information
Marion County's two transfer stations, the North Marion County Disposal Facility near Woodburn and the Salem-Keizer Recycling and Transfer Station east of Salem, accept clean yard debris for composting. A fee is charged for this service, being $47.00 per ton, with a $9.00 minimum. The material is currently transported to Wood Waste Reclamation, a composting facility near Aumsville.
Centralized Composting - Curbside Pickup
Yard waste is also now picked up curbside in the cities of Salem, Keizer, Woodburn, Stayton, and Silverton, as well as the surrounding area within their urban growth boundaries. This material is hauled directly to the Wood Waste Reclamation composting facility located near Aumsville. There, it is ground up, composted, and eventually sold as a finished product.
