City Curbside Recycling Collection Service
It’s simple to separate recyclable materials, before they become garbage! You probably already have newspapers set aside. With a little extra effort, you can sort and recycle at home or at work!
Almost all cities in Marion County have weekly curbside recycling service available, on the same day as garbage service, which includes the following materials:
Lastly, Salem, Keizer, Woodburn, Stayton, and Silverton residents now are able to recycle their yard debris in special containers, which are provided by their Garbage Disposal Franchises - Mid-Valley Garbage and Recycling Association. The yard waste container is picked up weekly, on the same day as regular garbage service.

For most areas, place each type of recyclable into a paper sack. For motor oil, place in a sealable container with a tight-fitting lid. For latex paint, simply place the can at the curb. In most cities, a single family residence on garbage service may receive the use of a convenient red recycle basket*. Place your sorted and bagged recyclables in the basket. Take the filled basket to the curb on garbage service day, rain or shine, by 6:00 a.m., and your hauler will collect them.
