The Department has a number of ongoing, special programs, which include:
Learn the ins and outs of how to reduce waste, recycle, and compost, and then put that learning into use.
Every year the Department awards a $2,500 scholarship to a student that is headed to college in the environmental studies/engineering field. The scholarship also includes a full-time job working with the Environmental Services staff.
We have a variety of videos about recycling that you can watch from your computer.
Each Fall, students throughout the County prepare artwork related to waste reduction and recycling, with certain artwork being chosen for inclusion in our annual Art Calendar. The submission deadline is October 21, 2011.
Do you work with kids? If so, be sure to check out our guide to educational resources in the area.
