Master Recycler Class open for Registration!
Spread the news, the new Master Recycler Class begins on Sept. 22nd. The classes will be seven consecutive Thursdays from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, 9/22 - 11/3 at the Marion County Public Works office (5155 Silverton Rd. NE, Salem). There will also be two Saturday field trips from 8:30am - 3:30pm on 9/24 and 10/15. Upon completion, Master Recycler volunteers complete 30 hours of volunteer payback which we will cover in more detail in the class. The class costs $25 and the deadline for signing up is Sun., 9/11 but space is limited. Register today!
Marion County Environmental Services is partnering with the Salem Public Library to offer a Blue Jeans Swap Sept 3 at 11am. Just in time for back to school, we will begin collecting blue jeans on Tuesday, August 16. Collection bins will be located at Library service desks. Library staff will give donors a receipt that they can use for tax purposes and that they can exchange for jeans at the event.
On Sept 3, we will accept donations until 11am. At that time the "store" will be open for those who have donated jeans to make their selections. An upcycling craft and refreshments will be provided
We need 4 volunteers at the event Saturday, September 3rd from 10-1pm and 2 volunteers Friday from noon to 3:30. If you can volunteer, please let Jessica
