Water Quality Goals
The Marion County Public Works Department's Water Quality Program coordinates the county's response to federal and state clean water regulations. The goal of the program is to protect the health of our streams, riparian areas and wetlands through the following strategies:
Identify strategic responses to water quality concerns.
and outreach regarding current water quality issues.
Minimize the effects on water quality from county operations using Best Management Practices.
Build relationships and work collaboratively with public and private partners to share information and resources.
The Water Quality Program coordinates with the county’s Planning, Engineering, and Operations divisions to provide a comprehensive approach to watershed and stormwater management.

Stormwater Management Plan
The Marion County Stormwater Management Plan outlines the actions that will ensure that the County meets the requirements of the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permits and reduces it's impact on the surrounding waterways.
