· Mt. Angel Oktoberfest
o MRC participated and helped staff their first aid booth.
· Home Depot Safety Fair
o Held at the Salem Home Depot on Cherry Ave. Marion County EM was the only group that showed up. Extremely low turnout by the public as well.
· EVC Exercise
o Hands on Mid Willamette Valley working in partnership with United Way has agreed to set up an EVC, register volunteers and place them in areas according to their skills in the event of an emergency. Thirty plus people showed up, staffed the EVC and went through the process of getting registered. At the end of the exercise all the volunteers were given supplies to start their 72 hr kits. The EVC is able to move to different locations within the county depending on where the disaster is.
· ICS 100 and 700
o Twenty volunteers showed up, took the training and completed their test online.
· Stayton Fire District Open House
o This event was held October 31. There was a lot of participation from local agencies and well over 300 hundred kids.
· Silverton Fire Safety Expo
o Held for the first time on October 1. There was a lot of participation from the community, minor issues with parking but lots of ideas for next year. Overall it was a success.
· Woodburn Open house
o Scott Hittner and Roseann Kendell from MRC attended and reported that it went really well, great turn out from the public
· Radiation Bio Physics Gamma Ray Training
o Scott attended this training in Albany on October 22. He said it was very worth while attending and he learned a lot.
· ARES SET
o Paul reported that the ARES SET was held on November 8, from 8am till 1pm. ARES had members at Salem Hospital, MC-EOC, ARC, Polk County and Keizer EOC. The was 50 to 70 messages sent out through the win – link and over the radio. They were able to communications with Linn, Yamhill, Clackamas and Washington Counties. They all also were able to communicate with PGE in Portland. Their scenario was a massive power failure resulting in damage to fuel stations, ATMs and other items wired into a network.
· Aumsville Fire
o About 240 trick-or-treaters came out Halloween evening and collected candy.
