On April 21, 1976, the Oregon State Fish and Wildlife Commission deeded 21.87 acres in the center of their 260 acre warm water fish pond area to Marion County for a park. The St. Louis Ponds were cooperatively developed by Marion County, Oregon State Highway Department, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The park is the central focal point on the site. Major uses on the site are warm water fishing and dog training.
