Marion County Planning Division
The Planning Division is responsible for administering the County Comprehensive Plan and implementing land use regulations for all unincorporated areas of the County. Staff assist the Board of Commissioners, Planning Commission and Hearings Officers with review of land use regulations. This office also processes a variety of land use applications and coordinates County land use policy with cities, other counties, and state agencies.
Our goal in maintaining this website is to facilitate access to information which is specific to the Marion County land use and zoning process. Although every effort is made to keep all information current, please contact the office for confirmation of all information before taking action.
Zone Code Updates.
The Marion County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on July 13, 2016 to receive testimony on amendments to Marion County Urban and Rural Zone Code Chapters 16 and 17 to conform to changes in state law, amendments related to the state model code for resource zones, amendments pertaining to mobile food vendors, home offices, and paving standards in urban unincorporated communities, and other amendments.
