Planning and Zoning News
On October 17, 2012 the Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution #12-29R initiating revisions to Marion County Code (MCC), Title 17 (Rural Zone Code). The resolution directed the Marion County Planning Commission to review the proposed amendments and submit recommendations back to the Board of Commissioners.
The purpose of the revisions is to update the code to incorporate new legislation, corrections, chapter reorganization and minor updating and clarification of regulations. Specifically, the proposed amendments include regulations for solar power generation on agricultural lands, allowing a single event permit for agri-tourism, and regulations on dog training and kennels on agricultural lands. As noted above, there are minor “housekeeping” corrections, clarifications and format changes proposed.
