In accordance with the Marion County Design Standards, monument boxes are required for all public land corner monuments that fall within paved areas and also for centerline monuments within or, if applicable, outside the boundary of subdivision and condominium plats. This also pertains to streets publicly dedicated by a partition plat.
The purpose for a standardized frame and cover is to facilitate replacement of missing covers in the future.

The 8" boxes are typically acceptable for most local streets (subdivisions) with speeds of less than 35 miles per hour.
