"Review Process"
When a record is submitted for review a paper copy that is stamped and signed by the surveyor is acceptable. Fees, required per our
Fee Schedule
, will need to be paid and staff will then review the survey to insure that the it meets our
Map Standards
. After the review the final map can be submitted for recording.

Existing Subdivision Names
"Duplicate Mylar Fee"
When submitting Partitions, Subdivisions, Condominiums, or Cemetery Plats you can provide us with one mylar (when ready to record) and after the plat is recorded the Clerk’s Office will have our copy made. In this way our copy has all the recording information on it and it also ensures that it truly is an exact copy of the recorded plat. A fee to cover this cost is collected by our office

"Title Report"
A Title Report or Plant Service Report will be required when recording Partitions, Subdivisions, Condominiums, or Cemeteries. The report will need to show all monetary encumbrances, covenants and restrictions, easements, rights-of-way and other non-monetary items of record along with the owners of record. The report needs to be 15 days old or less at the time of recording, so you will need to work with staff on timing issues.
"Signatures and Notarizations"
ORS and OAR require archival black ink be used on mylars. Ball point pens and self-inking stamps are unacceptable!
Effective
January 1, 2002
, notary stamps/seals are
no
longer required to be used on plats when notarized by an Oregon Notary Public. See
INSTRUCTIONS FOR NOTARIZING PLATS.
"Ink Jet Plotting"
The Marion County Surveyor will accept Ink Jet Plotting as long as it meets the standards outlined in the OACES website. (Currently the County Clerk's Office does accept plats that meet the same standard as long as a signed statement is submitted that notes the type of ink and mylar used (check with our office)).
