Your County Surveyor’s Office:
Recovers, restores, and protects original section corner and donation land claim corner locations
Reviews pending subdivision and partition plat maps for: Oregon statutes and county requirements, mathematical accuracy, visual clarity, easements, encroachments and other potential issues, then adds them into the "Survey Records GIS"
Receives private survey maps for filing, reviews them for compliance with Oregon statutes and county requirements, then adds them to the public record and inputs into the "Survey Records GIS"
Assists the general public with locating recorded records and historical research: property surveys, subdivision plats, partition plats, condominium plats, cemetery plats, road records, public easements, local access roads, gateways, county surveys, control surveys, GPS surveys, and general survey questions
It is important to remember that not all property has been surveyed and may only be a paper division recorded in the deed records. It is also important to remember that some survey monuments marking land boundaries have no survey recorded, due to the fact that the survey predates the recording requirements and the monument reference may only show up in deeds, if at all
The County Surveyor’s Office also has records within all of the cities within Marion County
