Surveyor's Office - Mission Statement

Provide the citizens of Marion County with professional surveying expertise and advice, and perform our duties as required by the Oregon Revised Statutes.
Objectives

To provide a quality survey records library and computer research facility

To provide exceptional customer service and provide exceptional public relations

To provide the record of survey review in a professional, accurate, and timely manner

To provide review of developments (subdivisions, partitions, condominiums and cemeteries) in a professional, accurate, and timely manner that serves the development community and protects the property rights of the citizens of Marion County

To preserve and maintain the public land corners placed by the Government Land Office (GLO) back in the 1800's (section corners, one-quarter corners, and donation land claim corners)

To provide a competent and trained staff to carry out our mission

Note: It is the goal of the Surveyor’s Office to check and review all records submitted within two weeks after we have received all pertinent documents and maps. Other agencies and departments, the land surveyor and interest holders are involved in the process and can affect how quickly records can be recorded.
