At the conclusion of today's autopsy the Medical Examiner concluded Ms. Bautista died of multiple gunshot wounds. The death of Ms. Bautista is now being investigated as a homicide. MCSO has been informed that media is reporting a connection between the deceased person found yesterday on Pirellie Road and the Oregon State Police Investigation at the Baldock Rest Area in Clackamas County.
There is NO connection between the two cases. I hope that any outlets who have reported incorrect or unverified information will correct their stories promptly.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a female found on Pirellie Road NE in North Marion County. Brenda S Bautista, 36, of Woodburn has been identified as the person found dead on the side of the rural Marion County road. Investigators are working to find the exact cause of her death but will not be able to make that determination until after an autopsy is performed.

. The Sheriff's Office does not anticipate any further release of information regarding this case until after the autopsy is completed, sometime tomorrow morning.
This morning at about 7:00 a.m., Deputies were called to Pirellie Lane NE a rural gravel road located in north Marion County. Detectives are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death.
Detectives and representatives from the District Attorney and Medical Examiners office are on scene and working to determine the gender of the victim and nature of the death.
