Koann Huntley and Eugene Henry were murdered during the late evening hours of November 27, 1988 or the early morning hours of November 28, 1988. Their bodies were discovered by a fisherman near the Parkersville dam on Howell Prairie Road, just south of Waconda Road in northern Marion County. Investigators do not believe that they were killed at the location their bodies were discovered.
Both victims led a transient lifestyle, staying with acquaintances when they could, other times living in cars. They frequented taverns in the Brooks and north Salem areas. Neither victim was employed and investigators believe they supported their meager lifestyle, in part, through petty crimes.
Koann Huntley and Eugene Henry died violently. Investigators are convinced that the scene of their deaths would have borne clear and obvious signs of a homicidal attack; substantial effort would have been required to conceal or remove the evidence of this attack. Because of the nature of their wounds, investigators believe there may have been more than one assailant. It is likely that one or more of these individuals have discussed in some fashion their knowledge or involvement with the murders.
People with information about the lives of these two victims, or who may have heard discussions about the location and details of their murder or those responsible are urged to contact the Cold Case Squad at 503-540-8006, or via the internet by using the Squad’s tip form. It is emphasized that any information about the activities of these two people around the time of their deaths or any rumors concerning their murders will be of significant interest to the investigators.
