Gang Defined:
"A criminal street gang refers to three or more persons having a common identifying sign or symbol or an identifiable leadership who continuously or regularly associate in the commission of criminal activities."
Marion County Oregon encompasses over 1200 square miles and the cities of Salem, Woodburn, Silverton, Stayton, Mt. Angel, Scotts Mills, Gervais, Hubbard, Aurora, Donald, Mill City, Gates, Detroit, and St. Paul and Jefferson. The county is home to nearly half a million residents.Since the 1980's there has been a strong push to investigate gang related activities and crimes, resulting in the arrest and convictions of several well known gang members within the county.Gang related graffiti continues to be on the rise.
