What is VINE?
VINE is a free, computer-based telephone service that will allow you to: Check on an offender's custody status either in a county or state facility. Register to receive automatic notification when an inmate is released or transferred.

How do I use VINE?
Call the VINE Hotline at 1-877-674-VINE (8463)
You may locate an inmate using basic information such as the name and booking number of the offender.
A series of computer prompts will assist you in locating an offender.
VINE will give you inmate custody information and invite you to register for free automatic telephone notification if the inmate is released, transferred, or escapes.

How do I register with VINE?
You will need to provide:
A telephone number
A Personal Identification Number (PIN)
If you do not have a telephone available to you, you can be notified by mail of changes in the status of the offender in your case. Please contact: Victim Assistance555 Court St. NE Salem, OR 97301 (503) 588-5253
After locating the inmate in your case, choose option number two for registration.
Once you are registered , VINE will automatically call you when the inmate in your case has a change in custody status.
VINE will call you every 30 minutes for 24 hours or until you enter your 4-digit PIN code.
What is a PIN code?
Your 4-digit PIN code is used by the VINE service to confirm that you received the proper notification.
You should choose a PIN number that is easy to remember and also write it down.
When VINE calls, you will need to enter your PIN code at the end of the notification message.
Entering your correct PIN is the only way to stop additional notification calls.
Important VINE Facts
VINE will call you automatically when an inmate is released, transferred, or escapes. Do not be startled if you receive a call from VINE in the middle of the night.
All telephone registrations with the VINE hotline are anonymous. No one can access your telephone number or PIN code.
No one can change or cancel your registration
You may register more than one phone number. Use the same PIN code for each registration.
If you are not home when VINE calls with a notification, the service will leave a message and call back within two hours.
If you do not have an answering machine or message service, VINE cannot leave a message.
You may call VINE as often as you want from any location to check on an inmate's custody status.
