Payment Information Marion County mails approximately 124,000 property tax statements each year. The statements are mailed between October 15 and October 25 to each property owner in the county. If you do not receive your statement by November 1, call the Tax Department at (503) 588-5215. Mailing address change If you wish to change the mailing address for your property tax statement(s), please contact the Marion County Assessor at (503) 588-5144. Color of statements If your property tax statement is yellow,  it means that a mortgage company has requested your tax statement. Taxpayers taking part in the Property Tax Deferral for Disabled and Senior Citizens Program also receive a yellow tax statement. If your mortgage company or the Property Tax Deferral for Disabled and Senior Citizens Program pays your property taxes for you, then this statement is for your records. If your property tax statement is green,  it simply means that no mortgage company has requested your tax statement. If you have recently refinanced or changed lenders, your mortgage company may not have requested your tax statement. The property owner is responsible for making sure that property taxes are paid. If you are not sure who is supposed to pay your property taxes, please call your mortgage company. Payment Schedules Property taxes may be paid in installments using one of the following schedules: Full payment Pay the "Full Payment" amount on or before November 15 and receive a 3% discount.  2/3 payment Pay the "2/3 Payment" amount on or before November 15 and receive a 2% discount. The final one-third payment is due by May 15. 1/3 payment Pay the "1/3 Payment" amount on or before November 15. There is no discount. The second one-third payment is due by February 15, and the final one-third payment is due by May 15. Property tax payments must be credited to the earliest year that taxes are due. Interest Interest is charged on any past due installment for the schedule you are following. By Oregon law (ORS 311.505), the interest rate is 1.3333% per month or fraction of a month until paid. Payment by mail Marion County encourages property owners to pay their taxes by mail. When paying by mail, please return the lower portion of your tax statement(s) with your payment using the enclosed envelope. Do not send cash through the mail. Write your account number(s) on the front of your check to ensure proper credit. Your cancelled check is your receipt. Please mail property tax payments to: Marion County Tax Collection Dept. PO Box 3416 Portland, OR 97208-3416 Payments mailed to this address are processed by the US Bank Payment Processing Center for Marion County. Be sure to mail your payment early enough to be postmarked on or before November 15. Payments postmarked after due the date lose all discounts and are charged interest. Payment in Person Payments in person must be brought to the Tax Collection office during regular business hours. Payment by Internet These transactions cannot be processed at the county office. A valid e-mail address is required as a confirmation reciept is e-mailed to the user. Official Payments Corporation is a third-party payment service provider, through which Marion County can accept Credit/Debit cards or e-check property tax payments. To make a payment, click on the payment link below. The Marion County Property Tax Payments page will provide account balances as of the date indicated. Please call if you feel this is not the most current. Marion County does not collect or retain any portion of the convenience fee charged. However, if you wish to inquire about initiating a potential refund, or a have a question about charges made to your account, please contact our office. Payment by Telephone This service is not available at our office. Marion County has partnered with Official Payments Corporation to offer property tax payments by telephone.
