Posted by: Health and Human Services

Renovations are nearly complete on Marion County's Health Services Building. A rededication and ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Thursday, November 10, at 12:15 p.m. The building is located at 3180 Center Street NE, Salem, and will be open for self-guided tours following the ceremony until 6:00 p.m. Community members are welcome to stop by and visit the renovated facility.

This is the first major renovation of the building since it was built in 1974. The year-long construction included updates to the building's heating and air conditioning system, installation of energy efficient windows and lighting, and a remodel to bring the building up to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Early Childhood Nursing, Communicable Disease, HIV, Immunizations, Reproductive Health, STI, and WIC programs currently located at Oak Street will be closed on November 18.  Limited services will resume at the Center Street building on Monday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m. Full services will resume on Tuesday, November 22.

Adult Behavioral Health, Medical Examiner, Environmental Health, Genoa Pharmacy, and Vital Statistics programs currently located at Front Street will be closed on December 2.  Limited services in the new Center Street offices will resume at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, with full services resuming Tuesday, December 6. The Health Administration office will open for business at the Center Street offices at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5.
