Wheatland Ferry Closed for Inspection and Maintenance

    Posted by: Public Works

The Wheatland Ferry was closed today and removed from the river for its required five-year hull inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard. During this time the ferry will also be cleaned and painted, and maintenance duties will be performed.

Due to the nature of the work and inspection outcome, the reopening date is unknown but the ferry is expected to reopen in early June. The public is asked to travel alternate routes and are discouraged from venturing beyond the closure to view the ferry.

For more information, contact Mike Shepard, Bridges and Ferries Supervisor, at 503-588-5036 or MRShepard@co.marion.or.us.
