Yesterday around 9:30 a.m, Sergeant Don Parise saw a male trying to avoid him on Portland Road NE near Ward Drive NE in Salem. When Sergeant Parise tried to contact the man he fled on his bicycle to a nearby trailer park.

Deputies immediately surrounded the area and within minutes located Cody Ryan Theodore, age 26, of Salem hiding under the skirting of a trailer within the park. Theodore was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Felon in Possession of a Weapon.

The chase took a turn when a Deputy searched Theodore and found a set of keys with numbers on them that matched a burglary that had just occurred at the Rockwood Park Apartments. Deputies contacted the victim an apartment maintenance man who identified the keys as belonging to him.

The victim reported that an unknown person entered an apartment that was under maintenance and stole the keys and a bag of tools. A search of the surrounding area was conducted and the man's missing tools were located and returned to him. Theodore is currently being held in the Marion County Jail for several outstanding warrants and the crimes of Interfering with Police and Burglary I.
