Yesterday at 6:00 a.m., the Silverton Police Department was notified that Scott's Mills Elementary School had a second incident where someone shot out a gym window at the school. This time however the suspect or suspects entered the school and made away with 20 IPads from a classroom. At around 4:00 p.m., an alert pawn shop employee at the State Street Pawn Shop in Salem, contacted the Silver Falls School District after a man attempted to sell two of the IPads. Deputies and Officers from the Sheriff's Office and the Silverton Police Department responded to the pawn shop and detained Spencer Moss, age 20, of Texas. After detaining Mr. Moss deputies and officers recovered 17 IPads and a pellet gun. Mr. Moss was taken to the Marion County Jail for the crimes of Theft I and later released, his next court appearance will be at the Circuit Court Annex on March 27th at 0930 a.m. Mr. Moss is the prime suspect in a rash of broken windows in and around the Scott's Mills area.
