Yesterday
Detectives were notified by the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office that Henry
Fitchett a man reported missing and later found inside of a residence near
Aurora died of natural causes.
At this point in the investigation the
Sheriff's Office has no further comment regarding the Fitchett case and is
referring any additional questions to the Marion County District Attorneys
Office.

This morning around 8:00 a.m.,
detectives with the Marion County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at
the residence of Henry Conly Fitchett, age 87, located in the 21000 block of
Hubbard Cutoff Road NE near Aurora. Henry Conly Fitchett was reported missing on
January 29th of this year by family members. During the search, detectives found
the deceased body of Henry Conly Fitchett inside of his residence.
Edward
Fitchett, age 59, Henry Conly Fitchett's son, has been arrested and taken to the
Marion County Jail for the crimes of Theft I, Criminal Mistreatment I, Identity
Theft I and Abuse of a Corpse. This is an active criminal investigation. An
autopsy will be scheduled and performed by the Oregon State Medical Examiner to
determine the cause of death.
The Sheriff's Office will not provide any
further details surrounding our investigation at this time. Mr. Edward Fitchett
is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. at the Marion County
Circuit Court Annex.

January 29th, of this
year, deputies were called to a residence in the 21000 block of Hubbard Cutoff
Road NE near Aurora to investigate a missing person. Family told deputies that
Henry Conley Fitchett Jr., age 87, has been missing since September of 2016. Mr.
Fitchett is 5'02" tall, 169 lbs, with gray hair and blue eyes.
Family
believes Mr. Conley may have moved to the Estacada area with a girlfriend but he
has not been seen or heard from since. Detectives are asking anyone with
