Early this morning, around 4:45 a.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called to the 4200 block of Ward Drive NE after a resident awoke and found their home had been burglarized. When deputies arrived they determined someone entered the home through an open window and stole a wallet and two vehicles parked in the victim's driveway. One of the vehicles a Ford Focus was recovered down the street, but the second vehicle a Ford Edge was still missing.

At 8:50 a.m., deputies were called to an armed robbery that had just occurred at the State Farm Insurance Agency located at 855 Lancaster Drive SE. As the robbery was being dispatched a deputy spotted the stolen Ford Edge leaving the same area as the robbery. Believing the stolen vehicle was involved in the robbery deputies pursued. The vehicle drove through the Salem area and into Keizer where spike strips were deployed, flattening the vehicles tires, a short time later the driver abandoned the vehicle and ran on foot.

The driver Richard Keith, age 25 was captured moments after running and taken to the Marion County Jail. Mr. Keith has been booked on numerous charges that include Reckless Driving, Felony Elude, Driving While Suspended-Misdemeanor, Burglary I, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle X 2 and several outstanding warrants.

While the chase was concluding, detectives with the Sheriff's Office responded to the robbery and determined that Mr. Keith was not the person believed to be involved. Detectives are seeking the public's help in locating a white, male, adult, who is approximately 30 to 35 years of age, thin and unshaven. The man was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black Carhart pants, and a mask around his neck believed to be half of a skeleton face. During the robbery the male displayed what appeared to be a handgun.

The man was last seen running south and possibly got into a brown, dodge truck. Anyone with information is asked to call the Marion County Sheriff's Office tip line at 503 540 8079 or you can text your anonymous tip to 847411, just text TipMCSO and your message.
