Marion County Public Works operations crews will begin the removal of pavement
at a bridge on Abiqua Road, one mile northwest of Briar Knob Loop, from 7:30
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12.
The road will be closed periodically up to 40 minutes
during the pavement removal process.
The pavement removal
work is part of a resurfacing project on South Abiqua Road, from 1,100 feet east
of Davis Creek Road to Abiqua Road and on Abiqua Road, from South Abiqua Road to
Briar Knob Loop and from 180 feet south of steel bridge to Milk Ranch Road. Marion County’s
contractor will begin work on these roads Monday, June26 through July 14,
weather permitting.
These same roads will be chip sealed by County
operations crews during the month of July or August, 2017.
The construction of
pavement resurfacing and chip seal preserves the life of the pavement avoiding
more costly pavement repairs if left untreated.
