Earlier this summer the Marion County Sheriff's Office welcomed a new member to our enforcement team. K9 Zeke a 3 year old Belgian Malinois and his partner Senior Deputy Peter Marcellais are now settling in and working hard for the visitors and residents of Marion County.

He and Zeke finished their K9 handler certification school in May and had their first apprehension together last weekend while assisting the Woodburn Police Department in search of a wanted subject. Sr. Dep. Marcellais says, "Zeke is a very playful puppy and his favorite thing to do is work". "He will shake with excitement when I get him suited up and ready for our shift".

The purchase of Zeke was made possible by a generous donation from Don Mortensen a Marion County resident. Mr. Mortsensen made the donation in honor of his late wife and their love for animals. Sr. Dep. Marcellais and Zeke made a visit to Mr. Mortensen to show their appreciation.
