Worksites Setting
Most adults spend the majority of their waking hours at the workplace, making it a great place to support healthy behaviors. It is hoped that the prevention of chronic diseases can further be aided by encouraging worksites to create environments that promote the healthy choice as the easy choice for their employees.
Goals and Objectives
- Goal 1: Worksites policies support tobacco-free workplaces and outdoor spaces, tobacco cessation, healthy food and beverage choices, and physical activity opportunities; and minimize access to unhealthy options.
- Objective 1: By June 30, 2010, healthy food guidelines that recommend that foods of minimal nutritional value not be served at Marion County agency meetings and trainings will be implemented in at least three Government Departments of Marion County
- Objective 2: By June 30, 2012 no more than 50% of foods offered in vending machines in Government Departments of Marion County will be foods of minimal nutritional value.
- Objective 3: By June 30, 2012, at least one Government Department of Marion County will adopt a smokefree campus policy that exceeds the Oregon Smokefree Workplace Law.
