Mercury Disposal for Small Businesses
Marion County provides a Free Mercury Collection program for Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG). Under this program, CESQGs can take elemental mercury and mercury containing devices (i.e. switches, thermostats, thermometers, barometers, manometers, etc.) to the Marion County HHW facility.
Fluorescent light tubes are not accepted under the Free Mercury Disposal Program, but CESQGs can take them to the Marion County HHW facility for a fee or search for another recycler on our
database .
The CESQGs need to first make an appointment with Marion County's HHW facility to drop their mercury-containing waste off.
To set up an appointment, please call Andrew Johnson at: (503) 566-4184.
