Toy Swap
On December 7, 2019, 180 people gathered at Faith Lutheran Church in Keizer to shop for free for gently used gifts to give for the holidays. People saved money, donated toys in good condition, and reduced waste at the fun event.
Many thanks to Faith Lutheran for allowing us to use their space. Our four public donation sites were wonderful in the aid of collecting toys (Capitol Coffee, Natural Grocers, City of Keizer, Marion County Public Works). We also had two private collection sites at Kerr Concentrates and North Mall State Building who helped supply toys as well. A special thank you goes to the Marion County Master Recyclers who volunteered their time to make the event so successful. We look forward to making this a recurring event.

Art Supply Swap in Stayton

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the Stayton Public Library and Marion County Master Recyclers teamed up to offer a free art supply swap. We hope this event becomes an annual occurrence.

Blue Jeans Swap
Salem Public Library and Marion County Environmental Services have teamed up once again to provide families with an opportunity to save money and save the Earth at the same time at its annual back-to-school Blue Jeans Swap.
From August 14 until 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25, out-grown, clean blue jeans of all sizes can be dropped off the 2nd floor "Ask Here" desk at Salem Public Library. Donors will receive a voucher for each pair of jeans donated.
At 1 p.m. on August 25, the blue jeans "store" will open in the Library's Anderson Rooms, and vouchers can be redeemed for new-to-you jeans. At 2:30, any jeans that remain can be claimed by anyone who needs them; free, no voucher required.

Facebook event page.
Art Swap Success!

On Saturday, April 28, the Salem Public Library and Marion County joined forces to offer another successful Art & Craft Supply Swap. Thanks to all the fantastic volunteers who helped sort donated items, almost all of the supplies found a new home. Event participants were delighted with their incredible findings!
Art Supply Swap
On Saturday, June 3, 2017, the Salem Public Library and Marion County Master Recyclers teamed up to offer a free art supply swap. Two rooms of supplies were swapped, keeping the material out of the solid waste stream and thrilling many artisans. We hope this event becomes an annual occurrence.
Homecoming Swap
In 2015 we partnered with the library to host a Homecoming Clothing and Accessories swap. While we had a lot of items donated we were hoping more people would have taken advantage of the free items. Perhaps the demand is not as high enough to warrant an event or perhaps not enough people knew about it? The participants that did come loved the selection and were thrilled to take home a new to them dress or two.
