Marion Creek Bridge Replacement
This project replaced the Marion Creek Bridge on Jefferson-Marion Road, near Pletzer Road, just east of the City of Jefferson. The existing bridge was constructed in 1958 and is on a county designated strategic freight route heavily used by trucks and commuters. The deck and substructure were in very poor condition and the rails and approach rails were substandard.
A new, wider, single span bridge was constructed in the summer of 2018. Widening was done on both sides to match the roadway and allow for a 6-foot wide shoulder on the bridge.
The contract will be complete at the end of the plant establishment period.
