Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Four Corners Elementary
Overview:
Marion County has received an ODOT grant for safety improvements along Elma Av, in Salem, OR, which includes frontage improvements to Four Corners Elementary School. A RRFB crosswalk will be installed on State Street, east of Elma Av, creating a new crosswalk location for children and increasing the safety for students crossing this urban arterial. A new walkway and sidewalk infill will be constructed on the east side of Elma Av. Enhanced safety measures such as high-visibility signing and striping will also be installed at Elma and Mahrt. Traffic calming measures will be constructed at the intersections near the school- at Elma & Beck and Elma & Durbin.

Funding:
The total estimated Project cost is $475,000 for engineering, right-of-way, and construction. A Safe Routes to School Grant will fund $380,000 and the remainder will by county funded.
