Bricio Munoz-Aguirre died from stab wounds inflicted by another on Friday, August 24, 2001.
It was approximately 10 p.m. on that Friday when his 1988 black Chevrolet Corsica was seen on a road adjacent to the Chemeketa Community College campus. The vehicle was seen travelling at a low rate of speed before it veered from the roadway, struck a fire hydrant and stopped.
Responders removed Bricio, who was semi-conscious, from his car. When they discovered the nature of his injuries he was transported to the Salem Hospital where he died.
Cold case detectives have conducted a thorough review of the information and evidence gathered in the initial investigation. Many members of Bricio's family, his friends and associates have been interviewed again during the review.
This investigation has developed several persons of interest.
