Marion County has been awarded federal funds from the All Roads Transportation Safety(ARTS) program as well as Congressionally Directed Spending to design and construct a single lane roundabout at the intersection of Ehlen Road and Butteville Road.
Are you curious how the future roundabout will accommodate your large vehicles, equipment and trucks? Marion County is hosting a Roundabout Rodeo to put our current design to the test. If you have a large vehicle that negotiates the intersection, and you want to see if our design will work for your vehicle, bring them to the St. Paul Rodeo grounds and drive a full-scale mockup of the roundabout. We’re looking to test the roundabout using large vehicles like semi-trucks, farm equipment, and other large non-passenger vehicles. We will record the event using drones and the information we gain will help identify possible issues and guide our design. There will be no
formal presentation, we are just there to test the roundabout geometry.
Residents, businesses, and interested parties are welcome to arrive anytime between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Since the roundabout rodeo will take place in a grass parking area, the roundabout rodeo will be weather dependent. If rain is forecasted either the day before or the day of the event, please refer
to the website below to see if the event will be rescheduled.
