Marion County Service Districts
Marion County currently has five service (or special) districts that provide sewer, water and/or lighting services. They are the Brooks Community Service District, East Salem Service District, Fargo Interchange Service District, Illahe Hills Street Lighting District, and Labish Village Sewage and Drainage District. The Marion County Board of Commissioners is the governing body of each district.

Brooks
The Brooks Community Sewer District was formed in 1989 to provide sewer and water service in the Brooks community northeast of Salem.
East Salem
The East Salem Sewage and Drainage District was formed in 1965 to provide sewer service to residents east of Salem. Lighting districts were added in 1971 to provide neighborhood street lights installed and maintained by PGE.

Fargo
The Fargo Interchange Service District was formed in 1992 to correct system problems and provide sewer service to the surrounding area of Ehlen Road and I-5.
Illahe
The Illahe Hills Street Lighting District was formed in 1962 and the Marion County Board of Commissioners began acting as the district board in 2011. It provides street lighting service to the residents of the district.
Labish Village
The Labish Village Sewage and Drainage District was formed in 1975 and provides sewer service to the Labish area north of Salem.
