Good news – the Marion County Fair is back!

Marion County is pleased to announce one of Oregon's oldest fairs will go on. The annual fair will take place July 9-11, 2021, at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. "We're so glad to bring youth and family activities, local and regional entertainment, great food, contests, and even the Funtastic Shows Carnival to the Marion County community," said Tamra Goettsch, Marion County Community Services Director.

After a one year live fair hiatus, the Marion County Fair is looking forward to once again showing off the best the county has to offer. The fair will host modified operations keeping public health and wellness at the forefront with COVID-19 protocols in place. While the fair will be not quite back to normal, the county and fair board are looking forward to providing a respite from the last year and half and welcoming residents and visitors to safely celebrate Marion County.

    The fair will feature:

    • "Made in Marion" Marketplace and craft area for kids

    • Heroes exhibit honoring veterans, active military, police, fire, and other emergency service providers

    • STEAM interactive games

    • Public contests and competitions, pet parade, and car show

    • Local and regional entertainment

    • Brad's World Reptiles, Kid Fit, Puzzlemania, Backyard &  Barnyard Adventures

    • Youth 4-H and FFA events, including the popular livestock auction

    • And of course, a carnival and everyone's favorite fair food!

Fair organizers are asking fairgoers to purchase tickets ahead to help manage the number of people at the fair at one time. Tickets purchased in advance online are just $5 (plus fees) while tickets purchased at the gate increase to $8. Tickets go on sale Saturday, June 5. Watch for more information on the Marion County Fair social media pages and website.

Seating will be set to allow families and groups to remain together, while promoting physical distancing. Enhanced cleaning along with more handwashing and hand sanitizer stations are planned throughout the venue.

The fair board is working hard to present a great fair during challenging times and will do everything possible to ensure a fun and safe event for our community.
