Training for Local Governments
As Treasurer for Marion County, I have developed a cash handler training for county employees as well as other local governments within Marion County that wish to attend. This training is offered free of charge.
The Cash Handler training was designed for all employees that handle cash as part of their job. The objectives for this class include increased cash handler skill and knowledge, increased level of customer awareness and service, increased cash handler accountability, increased safety for cash handlers and county assets, and standardized cash practices. I review the basics of currency and check recognition, daily cashier operations, security and loss procedures, identification of counterfeit currency and fraud prevention. The course is based on the Model Cash Handling Training Manual published by the Association of Public Treasurers.
Below is a schedule of the upcoming classes.
