Volunteer Recognition
2022 Volunteer Awards
Marion County Board of Commissioners recognize outstanding volunteers with annual volunteer awards. Volunteers are recognized in 5 categories: Youth Volunteer of the Year (age 7-17 yrs), Advisory Board Volunteer of the Year, Division/Program Award (18+ yrs), Commissioner Mary Pearmine Outstanding Volunteer Group Award, and the Judge Rex Hartley Volunteer of the Year Award.
Anyone may nominate a county volunteer or group for this annual recognition. Volunteers may be honored for ongoing or past service to a program, or for work on a one-time project. Volunteers should be recognized for service during the calendar year 2022. Nominations are accepted year-round, with an annual deadline set each year. The deadline to submit a nomination for the 2022 Volunteer Awards has been extended until the end of the day Monday, March 13th.
All nominations are made through the Volunteer Award Nomination Portal, which is now closed for 2022 award nominations. The nomination portal will open back up on April 3rd for 2023 award nominations.

2021 Volunteer Awards were presented at the Marion County Fair in July. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Board of Commissioners, Department Heads and other elected officials to personally thank our volunteers for their volunteer service. We are pleased to announce our 2021 Volunteer Award recipients!
