Summary of Services
Our Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) provides crisis intervention services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for anyone who perceives themselves to be in a mental health crisis.
Our Qualified Mental Health Professionals conduct assessments and make appropriate recommendations to support anyone in crisis including referrals for ongoing mental health services. We utilize Qualified Mental Health Associates to access basic services in the community and provide training in areas such as:
- Taking prescribed medication
- Symptom management
- Facilitating access to community resources
BHCC staff provide telephone triage, support, and referral. We have psychiatric prescriber services available for individuals who meet specific criteria. Additionally, we authorize regional inpatient hospitalization for indigent residents of Marion County.

Our Community Response Team (CRT) provides crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. These teams are comprised of a combination of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA), and a Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM).
Who can call CRT?

- Anyone concerned for themselves or another individual
Examples of a behavioral health crisis include:
- Suicidal thinking
- Feeling unable to cope with life stressors
- Psychotic behavior
- Substance use concerns
What CRT does:
- Crisis intervention
- Safety plan
- Transport voluntarily to other service providers or location determined to be appropriate
- Provide resources and referrals
- Evaluate appropriateness for Crisis Respite
- Arrange for follow-up when appropriate
- Connection to Addiction Services
- Provide peer support for those experiencing issues with substance use and/or recovery

The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) pairs a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy with a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Together, they respond to calls involving individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis by providing both safety and support on scene.

When MCRT can help:
- Behavioral health crisis is emergent
- Someone is thinking about suicide, homicide, or harm to self or others
- Disturbance or potentially aggressive behavior from someone with behavioral health concerns
- There's a conflict in a family or caregiving situation involving behavioral health
- Ongoing behavioral health concerns with frequent calls for help
- Follow-up after a behavioral health crisis to help the individual stay connected to support
- Any situation where a behavioral health-focused approach could make a difference
